Company History
In the late 1800's a small wholesaler of hides, furs, and wool opened on Morris Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama. From that humble beginning, BHT has evolved into a leader in the rendering industry.
The Vickers family of Lebanon, Tennessee obtained ownership in the Mid-1930's after working in the business for a number of years. A member of the Vickers' family has managed the business ever since.
Today, Birmingham Hide & Tallow Co., Inc. provides rendering services and waste cooking oil removal for customers throughout the Southeast and sells its finished products to manufacturers across the nation.
We've strived to be - better not bigger - through providing our customers with high quality service and finished products. From the small local diner to the national super grocery chains, each receives the same level of quality service.
